MONTREAL - Officially sanctioned by the WMC (World Muay Thai Council), The Champions Club, a premier Muay Thai superfights event, will hold its first international event at the Fairtex Stadium in the resort city of Pattaya on 22 August 2009.

In an official press release, Bernard Caplin, The Champions Club Thailand Promoter, had this to say about the Pattaya 2009 event:

“We are currently working on getting our first international show up on its feet, The Champions Club Thailand 2009, concentrating on Thailands beautiful and most cosmopolitan resort city of Pattaya as host. Fairtex Stadium in Pattaya has been selected as the choice venue after location scouting of the many suitable options we have been offered in Thailand.”

“Of course there are many possibilites in “the home of Muaythai”, but the final decision has gone to Pattaya. The reasons are not too hard to understand as we have a good working relationship with Fairtex, there are many great Muaythai gyms, a great stadium, perfect training facilites at the Fairtex resort, an international community with a high expat demography, super beaches, lots to sports activity and great nightlife in Pattaya.
